I had my baby!

JimJams_eyesopenOkay, this is actually a month late, because my sweet boy arrived 4 weeks ago. But hey, I’ve been changing diapers for THREE kids now (with a little help) so I’m cutting myself some blog slack. Look for some heavy posting from here on out!

Meanwhile, here are the details: Baby Jim-Jams (his stage name, y’all) was 8 lbs, 8 oz — a mere slip of a boy compared to his older sisters, who both right at 10 lbs each. He is the Best Baby Ever ™, eating and sleeping like a champ, although he loves his 2am Happy Hour. I’m lazily working on spreading out his night feedings. And meanwhile, I cannot get enough of him — it’s all I can do not to gobble him up every hour or so.

What’s a huge relief: no more throwing up. No more pelvic pressure — he was breech, lying transverse, and I could barely walk from the sofa to the sink. And no more antepartum depression! (so far, at least)

Hey, Melissa! Glad to have your blog address. I’ll look forward to coming back and browsing more.
Have a great rest of the weekend.

oh and by the way, I looked up that vintage cookbook you had (Thousand Ways to Please Husband)…you have a little treasure on your hands. Those are hard to come by. I wonder if yours is the 1917 edition…it looked old.
Anyway, it’s also on google books so I can skim through it there. There’s also one called Thousand Ways to Please a Family. (also on google books)

    take care!

Hey Abbie! today’s my first day back to blogging after a month or 2 of no sleep whatsoever (sorry I missed your comment a while back). And yes, I have both the 1917 edition of A Thousand Ways to Please a Husband AND “How to Please a Family” which I found either on eBay or Alibris — both of them a pleasure to read. I always get inspired to be a better mom and worker from home when I read them, since they’re not just about cooking but also about how to run a household and organize your time and belongings. It’s a long road for me since I tend to get distracted by the least thing, but it’s nice to know that many of the problems and solutions of women and families bridge generations!
